Description

You came to learn. Now it’s time to act.

Mental health systems cause harm — quietly, consistently, and often in the places meant to help most. Recognizing that harm is essential. But recognition is only the beginning.

Witness gives you the language to see what is happening.

Advocate asks what you do with what you now know.

The Antiracism in Mental Health Fellowship can help you move from recognition to action. Advocate includes the complete Witness curriculum and takes you deeper into the history of mental health care, the systems that shaped it, and the ways racism continues to operate in clinical practice today.

Advocate is best for students, emerging practitioners, and early-career clinicians who want to enter the field differently — before the system shapes them in ways they’ll spend years undoing.

BY THE END OF ADVOCATE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:

  • Understand how racism became embedded in the history and development of the mental health professions
  • Recognize how racism and whiteness continue to shape mental health systems and clinical practice
  • Identify recurring tropes and intersecting systems through which harm occurs
  • Draw from histories of resistance to begin imagining and practicing differently

RECOGNITION IS NOT THE ENDPOINT.

Once you can see the system more clearly, the question becomes what you will do differently within it.
